SEE & DO
Want to talk about trail running, hiking, biking, skiing, fishing, drinking, dining, art, or more? We love to help our guests experience our community and Vermont to its fullest.
We're conveniently located between Burlington and Stowe and minutes away from Underhill State Park and the hiking trails on Mount Mansfield. A perfect location to begin a bike tour or launch a backcountry skiing adventure! Or, you could just take in the terrific views with an espresso right from our back deck. Nestled on 12 acres of private land, you’ll be surrounded by tranquil woods in a bucolic landscape with wildflower meadows, pollinator gardens, and our friendly chickens.
Whether you are coming for business or pleasure, to experience an unforgettable romantic weekend, to disconnect from every day life, to do plein air painting, to visit friends or relatives, visit your college student, tour the area’s sights, or attend a wedding in Vermont, we warmly invite you to enjoy our home.
Val is passionate about mountains, ravens, and cheese. An avid trail runner, she enjoys her free time in the woods or in the kitchen with Todd. Together, they enjoy trail running adventures that coincide with culinary exploration. Val works in renewable energy policy and moonlights on an organic blueberry farm.
Todd loves the mountains and the mountain life. He mountain bikes, flyfishes, trail runs, hunts, and takes beautiful photographs. In his day job, he specializes in helping groups find solutions to complex and controversial environmental, food, and agriculture issues.

OVER A DOZEN CHICKENS
Todd and Val are wonderful hosts who have a gorgeous slice of Vermont to share with others. We felt really fortunate to find this beautiful spot to stay. It's an easy drive to Burlington and you're still nestled amongst the mountains for quick hikes during the day and mind-blowing stars at night.
The food that Todd and Val prepared for us was delicious (all local or from their garden or hens—everything was outrageously fresh). We really enjoyed talking with Todd and Val during our stay—they were both extremely interesting people and helpful hosts, providing tips on places to visit (Val even drew up a map for us to get to a trailhead). They were always available if we needed anything and our room was comfortable and quiet (we had the place to ourselves during the weekend we stayed). We would consider going back with our kids—it'd be a fun place to explore from during the winter. Thank you again to Todd and Val for the satisfying stay at their home.
